Dr. Mary Grabowski received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2008 from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked at a private exotic animal hospital from 2008-2010 with extrensive training in avian, reptile, and small mammal medicine. Her school training includes canine and feline medicine with two additional exotic animal externships at different universities. These exotic animal externships included one month at the University of Tennessee in the exotic and wildlife program, and a second month at the University of Minnesota in the Minnesota Raptor Center.
Dr. Grabowski is an active member in several organizations, including: Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Her special interests are avian and wildlife medicine. Dr. Grabowski is currently applying for her wildlife license to treat community injured wildlife, and her future goal is to become a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Medicine.
Dr. Grabowski currently lives in Crystal Lake with her fiance, Nathan. They share their home with six animals, including one dog (Scout), two cats (Meeshka and Oscar), and three birds (Josephine- a Rose-breasted Cockatoo, Remi-a Sun Conure, and Paco-a Peach-fronted Conure). She is excited about the new move west of Chicago and looks forward to meeting members of the community.
