Dr. Lisa Mikol-Doering received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999 from
the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
She worked at a private practice in Tampa, Florida from 1999-2007.
During her time in Tampa, she became actively involved with Lost Angels
(a canine rescue organization) & Croc Encounters
(a refuge for injured & abandoned reptiles & birds).
Dr. Mikol-Doering sees dogs and cats, and she also has a special interest in Avian and Exotic pets.
She is an active member in several organizations including: American Animal Hospital
Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians,
Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, among others. She is currently working to
become a diplomat of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Medicine.
Her other professional interests include surgery, dentistry, and veterinary endoscopy,
laparoscopy and laparoscopic surgery (minimally invasive surgery). She regularly attends
continuing education seminars and has advanced skills and training in dental and endoscopic
techniques and procedures.
Dr. Mikol-Doering is married to Matthew Doering, and they have two daughters, Caroleena and Mia.
They also share their home with four cats (Hobbes, Immi, Lyla, Tux), one dog (Finley), and a
male eclectus parrot (Tortuga). Together, she and her husband decided to relocate to their home
town of Bartlett to open Westgate Veterinary Center. They are excited about the opportunity to
raise their children in Bartlett, while giving back to the community by providing top quality
veterinary care and emotional support to the pets and people of Bartlett and the surrounding
communities. They also look forward to involvement in many community activities to show their
support.
